From Pakwerk: We are excited to announce that one of our Hanoverian Scenthound puppies in our current litter, has been donated to a Fireman by the Fox + Hound K9 Foundation. Fireman Brian Torno is the recipient of this puppy. Once the puppy finishes foundation training here at Pakwerk, she then continues on in her training with Brian, as he intends to achieve FEMA certification with her. What a wonderful foundation and a great organization to donate to. We are very grateful to Brian, Lance BeHr, and Karen at the Fox + Hound K9 Foundation for the excellent working homes our hounds are going to, and for allowing us to be apart of their story as they grow and develop.

WHAT A FACE
K9 MIA UPDATE
FROM MIA'S HANDLER, BRIAN ...
Something very exciting has been happening behind the scenes! Thanks to an awesome organization Fox and Hound K9 Foundation and an amazing breeder/trainer Pakwerk Canine, I’ll be getting this girl later this year after she’s done with HRD (human remains detection) imprinting and foundational training.
When she arrives she’ll continue HRD training here and when she’s of age, we will test to become a certified FEMA K9 team with MOTF-1.
Mehlville Fire has also been super supportive and agreed to allow me to bring her with me on shift so we can get as much training in as possible each day.
Since she will be an HRD dog, her name is Mia for “missing in action”.
Another fun fact is that my bestfriends dog Wilson, is Mia’s dad. Wilson and Tommy are an HRD team with the STLFD.
